Elena Tova is a woman on a mission: saving animals. In 2009, she left her job and comfort zone to found El Hogar in Tarragona, a home that provides shelter for over two hundred animals, most of which have come from the food industry.
Animals that are injured, sick or old –abandoned because they are no longer useful- become part of a huge family of different species. Healing their physical and mental injuries and providing them with the best possible conditions of life requires a major financial commitment and complete dedication, which she accepts with the same passion as on the first day.
She knows she cannot save them all, but by telling their stories she hopes to touch hearts and show how we can relate to them in a different way.
