SYSTEMA NATURAE
Systema naturæis one of the most famous works by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus, in which he expresses his ideas on the hierarchical classification of the natural world, dividing it into three kingdoms: animal, plant and mineral.
Linnaeus’s classification and 19th century treatises on botany are the inspiration for this installation consisting of a series of photographs of familiar portrayals of different natural features, such as leaves, feathers, stones, etc., with which the author seeks to preserve and map the environment surrounding her.
