KURS
‘Kurs’ means current in Eastern European languages. The current of the Black Sea that straddles the boundary between Asia and Europe, and which is one of the few seas in the world that is not connected to the world’s great oceans.
The story involves six Black Sea countries: Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia, exploring the sea’s ecology, and its relationship with people, industry and climate change.
The project has been funded through the Royal Photographic Society Environmental Bursary, and its ultimate goal will be the presentation of a book toward the end of April 2017.
