The aim of “Trapped?” is to stimulate thought about our behavior towards forms of life different to our own, the most distant of which in fact is near to us; the vegetable kingdom.
This series of photographs arises from the discovery of dimly perceived spaces that give us a glimpse of a dream world, consisting of plants confined behind glass that seem to speak to us. It would be apposite to ask ourselves: Do they feel trapped in a greenhouse?
Scientists currently speak a lot about the sensitivity and intelligence of plants, and that we should learn how to regard them not as raw material but rather a source of knowledge that may help us to resolve our future.
Who knows if one day we might talk about plants and their feelings, and whether human beings will understand what until now has been denied by our own human nature.
