FineArt
FineArt Igualada has established itself as a benchmark in photographic circuits at the state level. This initiative was created in 2012 by the Igualada Photographic Association and the Igualada City Council. FineArt’s main objective is to bring photography closer to all audiences, to energize the premises where the exhibitions take place and to open Igualada as a photographic and design city.
It is about showing, for twenty-four days, the spaces of the city of Igualada with photographers from all over the world, photography schools and fans. Along with the photographic exhibition, cultural activities are organized around the theme: talks, round tables, guided tours and workshops for adults and children.
The promotion of artistic creation through photographic art is also one of the purposes of FineArt, as well as the fact of publicizing photography in educational centers and opening the doors to schools of photography, arts and design to show their projects.
The exhibition spaces are very varied: schools, the municipal market, municipal and/or cultural facilities, old factories and premises that are currently unoccupied. During FineArt’s days they are transformed into ephemeral spaces where the works are exhibited. The event is part of the global strategy of the Igualada City Council for the dynamization of the premises and the activity in the center through culture and the promotion of design and local industrial architecture.
