This is an exhibition of the work of eight photographers: four on each side of the frontier, who witnessed the journey into exile of those fleeing from the Spanish Civil War.
A look back into the past, but one that is highly topical. Unfortunately, we did not learn anything from that experience; so today, seventy years later, we are seeing the same scenes all over again. That is why we have chosen to look back into the past and reflect, through each one’s own personal lens, how we see –with the perspective of time- what happened in those years in the 1930s.
Perhaps by only looking back into the past, looking back before the clock, we can put a stop to this madness that destroys people’s lives: lives that are lost, lives that are ripped apart... And if we manage to look back before the clock, we may be able to change our future.
