URBAN GEOMETRY
A walk through the urban landscape of any city enables me to view it as a whole, at the same time as I can break it up into sectors and observe how buildings become a succession of geometric features that I can easily separate from the rest in order to make out quasi-abstract forms in the search for something interesting and harmonious in a mundane setting.
I have extracted the aesthetic and artistic values of urban geometry, making the most of the rules of composition, forms and lines; the play on light and shadows, as well as the most appropriate contrast between them. The use of monochrome provides me with more options to control these aspects; in addition, tools such as Photoshop and Silver Efex Pro 2 have been invaluable allies.
