The Unexposed Collective is platform to showcase the work of Australian women and non-binary photographers. Unexposed was formed as a response to the predomination of the male voice in street photography.
As a kind of anti- collective, it is non-elitist and non-hierarchical and reflects the founders’ concerns that as street photography grows in popularity, women are not left behind, neither because of casual or institutional sexism or as a consequence of our own fears about putting our work and ourselves forward.
The photographs on exhibition provide a unique view at Australian life through the eyes of artists who respond to the candid, the curious, beautiful and the unusual of everyday life.
