It was held for the first time in 1970. Half a century is a long time, and it stands to reason that its organisation has changed in myriad aspects, moving from printed photos to today’s digital world, for example. 

The spirit, nonetheless, remains the same: depicting sport and its entire environment through the attentive eye of photo artists throughout the world. In other words, giving full meaning to Fotosport, the acronym that lends its name to this show. What’s more, we are the oldest exhibition in Catalunya, and the only one in the world recognised by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) that focuses exclusively on sport.
