Juan Pastor began taking photos around 1974, but his first work of any depth and substance did not emerge until 1980.
He was a member of the 10x4 Group, and exhibited –both as a group and individually– throughout the length and breadth of Spain.
In his opinion, photography was "painting with light", and apart from the idea itself and a dose of creativity, it is necessary to continue using light (natural or artificial) with a special sensitivity for moulding the shapes of the final image.
You like a photo because it consists of an indescribable “whole” that makes you stop and look at it.
Time and the contemplation of many images convince you that a very important part of this whole is undoubtedly the quality of the light used.
