The idea for this series of photographs came up four years ago while reading about the disappearance of several islands in the San Blas archipelago due to rising sea levels caused by global warming. This made me think about my country, as we live between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and much of the city was built by filling in the ocean. Swamps and forests are destroyed just to build residential developments and shopping centres. What does the future hold for Panama?

This series is therefore a projection of the future that may await the Panamanian isthmus because of the enormous harm we are doing today, and its aim is to make us aware or at least prepare us for what lies ahead.
