Gardens offer a unique perspective for understanding the complex and dynamic relationship between humans and the natural environment.
Gardens offer a unique perspective for understanding the complex and dynamic relationship between humans and the natural environment. For centuries, the transmission of knowledge acquired through horticultural practices has played an important role in the evolution of our society , both culturally and technologically. However, in recent years, especially due to the comforts provided by new technologies and their exponential growth, there are more and more people who have disconnected from nature, giving rise to an increasingly digital society that lacks the basic knowledge to understand natural processes in general.
Based on avant-garde artistic movements such as constructivism, ready-made, Bauhaus , and even surrealism, "The Ignorant Gardener" mixes different artistic disciplines such as sculpture and digital photography to create a series of visually improbable images with compositions outside of any physical logic , prompting us to reflect on the ignorance that contemporary generations have about horticulture and natural processes in general.
This project was hosted at the contemporary culture center in Loft in Copons, where fieldwork was conducted in the orchards.
