A reflect on the passage of time, the human condition, innocence, and the loss of benefits in adulthood.
This project is an intimate documentary work in which , through the connection with my uncle José Antonio, I reflect on the passage of time, the human condition, innocence, and the loss of benefits in adulthood. It is a walk through memory from the margins. By listening to our conversations, I explore the boundaries between the real and the fictitious to create a fantastic visual imagination.
José Antonio is 76 years old and has an unclassified functional diversity. Over time, I have observed how his behavior has changed, making him a more shameful, cunning, and even daunting person. I have identified moments in which he has experienced emotions that have blocked him, circumstances that could arise from either excessive external control or from the passage of time and its physical consequences, such as reduced mobility or blindness.
I seek to provide a clearer perspective on the condition of dependency to show that what we all need most is companionship and alliances. I move away from the patterns where alterity is socially positioned to portray him as the agent of his own life, without stripping him of his personality, gestures, or thoughts.
Diente de leche has a healing mission, as throughout the process, we both develop greater emotional expression, allowing us to be freer and happier despite the conditions we have had to endure.
